Weekend in NoMad: Fall Kids Fest 2013 in Madison Square Park

fall kids fest 2013 in madison square park

Typically, our Weekend in NoMad posts feature the fantastic nightlife and cultural happenings in the neighborhood. However, this week we cannot overlook a wonderful family-friendly event in the heart of NoMad.

Fall Kids Fest 2013 in Madison Square Park will be held tomorrow (rain or shine, and the weathermen are predicting “shine”) from 11am-2pm. Featuring live music, games, arts and crafts, pumpkins and more, this event is free and open to the public.

The Madison Square Park Conservancy has hosted many family-friendly musical acts in recent years, and some are making return visits to the NoMad neighborhood for Fall Kids Fest 2013.  Live performers include the Central Park Zoo’s Wildlife Theater, Songs for Seeds, The Little Rockers Band and more.

The Fall Kids Fest 2013 will also feature a costume swap. You are encouraged to bring one of your child’s old Halloween costumes and swap it out.

Some of the great local NoMad businesses have come together to sponsor this event, including the Melt Shop and Hill Country Chicken.
