Weekend in NoMad: Comedy, Sub Pop, Vice

Sub Pop's Bruce Pavitt wil DJ at Ace Hotel

The Ace Hotel in NoMad will play host this weekend to a couple of the biggest tastemakers in the indie music world. As usual, there are also some great comedy events going on in the neighborhood.

Tonight, Chris Roberts from Vice Records will spinning in the Ace Hotel Lobby Bar to start the night. Following him, Sub Pop founder Bruce Pavitt will take control of the decks starting at midnight.

Vice Records are known for their wild parties, cutting edge internet journalism and often controversial music reviews. They are hosting parties in the Ace every Friday this month. Sub Pop is one of the classic independent record labels. They put out records some bands you may have heard of: Nirvana, The Shins, Wolf Parade.

As always The PIT has great improv, sketch and standup performers. They have nightly shows this weekend running hourly on multiple stages. You may even end up seeing a future SNL star!
