Weekend in NoMad: Chica Go-Go, Randy Weston

Chica Go Go is at The PIT in the NoMad Neighborhood

There is so much culture and music going on in the NoMad neighborhood every weekend that it can be tough to decide what to do. Luckily for you, we have some ideas for fun in NoMad this weekend!

Our first recommendation is a great improv comedy show going down at The PIT. For the uninitiated, The PIT hosts some of the best improv comedians in the United States and was the site of the recent NYC Improv Fest. Their bar has become a clubhouse of sorts for the NYC improv comedy scene. At 11pm tonight (Friday), Chica Go-Go will feature many veterans of the Chicago and NYC improv scenes. These improvisers include Dara Katz of The Era and many others. See a list of other performers below:

Joe Bill (Bassprov, Annoyance), Ari Voukydis (UCB, Best Week Ever), Betsy Stover (UCB), Doug Stoley (Conan, The Scene), Jodi Lennon (Exit 57, Annoyance), Rick Andrews (Magnet teacher/performer), Russ Armstrong (I.O. Chicago, Magnet), Amey Goerlich (Indie Cage Match, The Scene), Michael Burton (Act One, The Magnet) Micah Sherman (Co-host The Scene, Second City), Silvija Ozols (UCB, The Stepfathers), Jed Resnik (Annoyance, UCB)

All weekend, Jazz Standard will host one of the greats. Known for his incorporation of African music, Randy Weston will lead his African Rhythms Quintet. He will perform eight shows over the course of the weekend so there are plenty of opportunities to catch this living legend!

Have a great weekend and stay safe!
