Two of NYC’s Largest Office Leases for October are in NoMad
There is mounting evidence that the NoMad neighborhood continues its upward trend as a destination for businesses unabated. As The Real Deal reports, among its list of the largest leases signed in New York City for October 2018, two of them were for spaces in NoMad.
Zillow Group
The Seattle-based real estate listing group is planning to move its StreetEasy offices from 130 Fifth Avenue to Nomad Tower, located at 1250 Broadway, next year. The company just signed a lease with Global Holdings to occupy floors 8-12 in the tower—a total of 130,000 square feet. This move into NoMad will more than double the company’s current NYC footprint.
WeWork
Currently, the second largest lease holder in NYC, coworking giant WeWork continued its expansion in October by signing a lease for the entire available office space at 149 Madison Avenue—a total of 115,000 square feet of space. WeWork already occupies ample square footage in the NoMad neighborhood, including its recent lease of 16,000 square feet at nearby 130 Madison Avenue..
Along with a significant number of companies moving their offices into NoMad in the months and after recently being recognized as one of the top NYC neighborhoods for design, these large leases provide more proof that good things lie ahead for our neighborhood.
