Luxury boutique hotel brand, The James, is opening its second Manhattan locale smack dab in our happening NoMad neighborhood.

The James New York — NoMad will be housed in a stunning Beaux Arts building at 29th Street and Madison Avenue, which originally opened in 1904 as Hotel Seville. The new hotel is being designed by renowned designer Thomas Juul-Hansen, a frequent collaborator with chef and restaurateur Jean Georges. The James will offer 344 rooms with 28 suites.

Amenities include locally curated bites and drinks from the James Club, the in-house lounge, complimentary wifi and triple filtered water. In keeping with the contemporary vibe, the hotel’s in-room technology takes the guest experience to new heights with The James Mobile App, keyless room entry, and tablets designed to make upgrades, dining choices, and service requests a breeze.

The property, operated by Denihan Hospitality, also boasts 5,000 square-feet of event space perfect for business meetings, weddings and social events.

Though the construction won’t be completed, the hotel is open for business on June 1. According to the hotel website the lobby will be finished by late July, the fitness center with Peloton exercise bikes is set to open early August, and the Italian restaurant Scarpetta will have plates of mouth-watering short rib agnolotti ready by October.
