Celebrate The 4th of July Near Madison Square Park

Check out Experience NoMad's list of the best 4th of July deals in the Madison Square Park area

Celebrate the 4th of July at one of the many famous bars and restaurants surrounding the Madison Square Park area. Whether you are looking for an elegant celebration or a rowdy rooftop party, you’ll find the perfect spot around the park.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Roof at Park South – this new rooftop bar offers unparalleled views of the city and faces east, meaning you’ll be perfectly positioned to take in the New York City fireworks, which returns to the East River after 5 years on the Hudson. Roof at Park South offers a menu of cocktails designed by bar director Ted Kilpatrick as well as a Mediterranean-inspired menu from James Beard award-winning chef Tim Cushman.
  • 230 Fifth – the popular rooftop bar 230 Fifth will be celebrating the homeland with a hot-dog eating contest, featuring competitive eating champion Takeru Kobayashi and a host of other professional gormandizers. Doors open at 10 a.m., and the contest will follow at 1 p.m. While the bar will not have views of the fireworks this year, there is still the fantastic view of the Empire State Building, and they will remain open throughout the evening.
  • The Gander – directly south of the NoMad District, a popular eatery from famed chef Jesse Schenker, will be hosting an all-day party. Gander will be offering quintessentially American foods: fried chicken, barbecue ribs, lobster rolls, pie and an ice cream sundae bar. The restaurant will also be serving an accompanying drink menu of rosé, beer and frozen drinks. The party will feature live music, karaoke and a ping pong tournament. Tickets for the food menu are $60, and tickets for the full event (food, drink and a gift bag) run $100 per person.

Happy 4th of July, New York!
