Whole Foods Leases 60,000 SF in NoMad
Whole Foods Market has signed a lease for 60,000 square feet at 63 Madison Avenue, in NoMad. The future store will occupy 10,000 square feet on the ground floor and 50,000 square feet across the second floor.
The property’s owners George Comfort & Sons, Jamestown and Loeb Partners Realty are undertaking a major renovation of 63 Madison. George Comfort CEO Peter S. Duncan commented, “Whole Foods will benefit from strong foot traffic and visibility, while our tenants, along with those who live and work nearby, will enjoy having such a high-quality retailer join the neighborhood.”
Whole Foods is owned by Amazon . . . perhaps Jeff Bezos wants a first-rate food store near his new penthouse at 212 Fifth Avenue.
