Weekend in NoMad: Big Apple BBQ 2014 in Madison Square Park
Big Apple BBQ returns to Madison Square Park for the festival’s 12th consecutive year this weekend. The event brings together the best BBQ cooks from across the country for a two-day block party complete with live music and a festive atmosphere.
Vendors will travel from Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Alabama and South Carolina to give you a taste of each region’s unique take on staples of the BBQ diet: ribs, brisket, andouille sausage, pulled pork and sliced turkey. Blue Smoke and Hill Country will be there to represent the NoMad neighborhood.
The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, will include musical performances by The Roosevelts, Black Taxi, Lissie, Riders Against The Storm, Lera Lynn and JD McPherson.
Swing by Madison Square Park to check out the fun. Simply stop by one of the ticket booths positioned throughout the park and hop in line to try out some of the BBQ. You can purchase your Fastpass ahead of time and skip the line.
