Weekend in NoMad 10/26/2012

The Bones of J.R. Jones live at Ace Hotel

As always, NoMad New York has great weekend activities. Whether you want to go drinking in NoMad or see some comedy, the neighborhood has you covered. Start the night off with some whiskey at the recently opened The Flatiron Room. You can even have them hold a personal bottle for you for safekeeping.

Ace Hotel always brings out great DJs to their lobby bar. Tonight, DJ Nelleke will be finishing up her October residency while spinning a set of classic soul, hip hop and funk. Ace staple DJ Huggy Bear returns on Saturday and will present his diverse tastes in music. Genres he spins range from hip hop to jazz to rock to 80s tracks.

On Sunday night, the Ace Hotel will host some live music. “The Bones of J.R. Jones” will perform their mix of folk, blues, roots and country. This act has some upstate roots so it should be especially interesting.

If comedy in NoMad New York is your thing, head over to The PIT any night this weekend. They have hourly shows running from the evening through late at night. See some of the best improv comedy in NYC right here in NoMad.
