Next week, Swann Galleries will transport you to a bygone time as the famed auction house presents a “Rare & Important Travel Posters” auction. This auction features beautiful posters portraying fabulous scenes of travel throughout the globe in the first half of the 20th century

Images include gorgeous renderings of both faraway locales from India to Casablanca and rugged steel ocean liners gliding through the world’s seas. With many posters starting at under $1,000, this is an attainable way to own a piece of world and design history.

“Rare & Important Travel Posters” has been curated by Swann’s President and Principal Auctioneer Nicholas D. Lowry. He is the Director of Swann’s Vintage Posters Department, having spent nearly 20 years as a poster appraiser on the PBS television show Antiques Roadshow. Lowry is also known as one of the world’s most respected authorities on vintage posters, and he currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Smithsonian Archives of American Art.

See a couple of our favorites below and head to Swann Galleries on November 19th at 1:30 p.m. to bring home a poster—and a piece of history—of your own.
