A new showroom opened in NoMad last month, bringing Lutron’s state-of-the-art lighting to all of the architects, designers, contractors, and developers in our neighborhood. This commercial Experience Center showcases Lutron’s wide range of lighting and control options, focusing on the four essential components of the company’s human experience lighting (HXL) philosophy—natural light, quality light, connection to the outdoors, and adaptive and personalized controls.

Visitors to the center—which can be seen by appointment only—get the chance to interact with Lutron’s lighting designs in various environments, including a lobby area, meeting rooms, and a hotel suite, to appeal to a variety of different businesses and their individual needs. It features the company’s newest releases as well as its top-selling, tried and true systems. New innovations include its Ketra smart lighting, engineered to resemble daylight, and its Limelight smart exterior light controls. Co-President Ramin Mehrganpour has described these latest technologies as “industry defining.”

The center illustrates the way “lighting and controls can impact different space types and people’s sense of well-being,” according to Executive VP Scott Hanna, making this an indispensable resource for local designers.

Aside from modeling Lutron’s portfolio of products, the building also doubles as a training center and conference space for Lutron’s clients, which is expected to draw a large international audience as well as appeal to locals who live and work nearby.

The center, which is the ninth of its kind Lutron has opened worldwide, is the perfect new addition to Manhattan’s thriving tech and design-focused neighborhood NoMad and further boosts our neighborhood’s position as NYC’s interior and architectural design center.
