NoMad Neighbors: Bread & Tulips
Bread & Tulips is a neighborhood restaurant inspired by the cuisine of Italy located in the Hotel Giraffe in NoMad New York. Their name comes from what they view as the two essential elements of a great restaurant. Bread symbolizes a satisfying meal and tulips represent a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Their specialty dishes derive from the simplicity of flour and water. These include brick oven pizzas from their state of the art Pavessi Oven, handcrafted pastas that include various seasonal additions and homemade breads/crostini baked daily. They change their menu seasonly to reflect only the freshest products of the current harvest. They also buy their products from nearby farmer’s markets.
This NoMad New York restaurant also places an emphasis on wine pairing. They have a list of over 100 wines available all for under $100. This includes 20 wines by the glass and quartino. They focus on Italian vintages while featuring several organic and smaller producers.
In addition, Bread & Tulips places a focus on the dining experience. They are able to accommodate big parties with their family style tasting menu for groups of 8 or more. They also have a chef’s alcove table which seats up to 14. For larger events, they feature the breathtaking rooftop garden and penthouse on the 12th floor of the Hotel Giraffe. They can hold cocktail receptions for up to 75 guests there. They also can handle parties of up to 50 in their rustic restaurant lounge.
It is important to Bread & Tulips to remain a neighborhood restaurant. Therefore, they hold a portion of the dining room for walk-in customers every night. If you are trying to book a time online and it’s not available, it’s always worth calling them up to see if any of the walk-in space is available.
Bread & Tulips is located at 365 Park Ave So. (corner of 26th st.) in NoMad New York. Their phone number is (212) 532- 9100.
