NoMad Hotels Getting Attention Across the Pond

The Gershwin Hotel in the NoMad District

The Telegraph UK has picked some great spots to stay and eat in NYC and two NoMad District hotels are amongst them. The travel section of Telegraph UK ran a feature earlier today with a guide to visiting NYC on a budget. Two of the hotels they picked are NoMad District favorites Hotel Deauville and The Gershwin.

They said that Hotel Deauville is “a charming, comfortable, 54-room family-owned hotel in 1900s Brownstone just off swanky Park Avenue. The original hand-operated lift will take you back in time, as will the faded Seventies decor, but veteran staff treat you like family and may tell of famous past guests such as Sid Vicious.”

They also noted that The Gershwin has a “bright red façade covered with suspended art installations” and “is a combination of gallery, museum and hipster hostel.”

However, in their mention of best restaurants to eat on a budget in NYC, they forgot to mention some great spots in the NoMad District! You can’t go wrong with a sandwich at No. 7 Sub, some meat at Cannibal, or a burger at Shake Shack!
