National Cheeseburger Day: Best Burgers in NoMad

The Breslin has one of the best cheeseburgers in NoMad New York

Today is National Cheeseburger Day! In honor of this food holiday, we will highlight some of the best burgers in NoMad New York.

You can’t talk about the best burgers near Madison Square Park without mentioning Shake Shack right off the bat. With humble beginnings, Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park. Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group launched the cart to support the park’s first art installation. It became a big hit from there, and in 2004 the USHG was approved to set up a permanent location within the park.

Walk a few blocks north to Resto for another great burger. At one point, NY Mag even named Resto the best burger in the city. They said that Resto’s burger was “a brilliant mix of high (house-ground patty made from hanger steak, beef cheek, and pork fatback) and low (a squishy supermarket-style bun), with plenty of fat to keep things juicy.”

If you’re looking for something different, head over to The Breslin at the Ace Hotel. They have a chargrilled lamb burger with feta cheese. This burger is very popular and a great option if you want a different take on a cheeseburger.

Another option for burgers in NoMad is the 40/40 Club. They offer classic flame-broiled beef burgers as well as turkey burgers. Maybe President Obama will have one when he hits 40/40 in NoMad for his upcoming fundraiser!
