Mondrian Park Avenue Hotel to Open in NoMad

The Mondrian Park Avenue hotel is set to open in NoMad this September, featuring a rooftop lounge, nightclub and a street level restaurant.

With the influx of art galleries and the prevalence of public art, it’s only fitting that NoMad will get a hotel named after an artistic legend. The NY Post is reporting that NoMad will join Miami and LA with our very own Mondrian Hotel.

The Mondrian brand is part of SBE, a hospitality company that develops, manages and operates major hotels and residences such as SLS Hotel & Residences, not the least of which is our own NoMad-favorite The Redbury.

The Mondrian Park Avenue will launch in a converted 14-story office building at 444 Park Avenue South and will be managed by Journal Hotels headed by esteemed hotelier Stephen Brandman. The original building has undergone extensive renovations, including the addition of an additional six stories above the existing structure and a 6,000-square-foot sub-cellar.

The Mondrian Park Avenue will feature a restaurant/bar on its street level as well as a downstairs nightclub and a rooftop lounge. With SBE’s affiliation with leading restauranteurs, including José Andrés, we’re interested to hear who will be collaborating on these nightclub and restaurant venues.
