John Henwood’s TheRUN Running Studio Is Up and Running in NoMad

John Henwood running studio TheRUN in NoMad

Right in line with the healthy lifestyle of NoMad locals, TheRUN running studio opened its doors today at 24 West 25th Street.

Owned by Olympic runner John Henwood, TheRUN offers a wide variety of group classes, catering to runners at all endurance levels.  The studio is filled with state-of-the-art Technogym treadmills, which automatically adjust incline and speed to match your pace. By moving running indoors, TheRun classes change what is often a solitary activity into a social, supportive community event.

Taking classes at TheRUN makes it easy for anyone to become a confident runner. If you’ve never run before and you don’t know what pace is healthy for you, an instructor will give you a brief test to help you establish a comfortable speed.  Classes vary from TheRUN Stroll to Stride 5K up to TheRun Long, a two-hour endurance, long-distance class.

TheRUN is only the second running studio to open in New York.  The first to open was The Mile High Run Club on East 4th Street, which took its name from Colorado’s reputation as a running mecca.  With NoMad topping recent lists as one of the most up-and-coming neighborhoods in the city, it’s only fitting that this up-and-coming exercise concept would find a home here.
