Interior Designer Nate Berkus Shops in NoMad

Nate Berkus takes Paper Mag shopping at Showplace Antique and Design Center in NoMad

Famed interior designer Nate Berkus recently took Paper Magazine on a tour of one of his favorite antique stores in New York—Showplace Antique and Design Center in the NoMad District. Showplace, located on 25th Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue, offers a huge range of antiques and vintage artwork, lighting, housewares, clothing and accessories.

Nate Berkus first made a name for himself through his guest appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show and has since gone on to release design books, curate collections for Target, and star in his own daytime talk show. He will soon introduce his new show American Dream Builders, a home-design competition program on NBC.

He comes to Showplace often for inspiration and to find one-of-a-kind items that make his interiors unique, but he is especially fond of the jewelry collection. Nate says, “Sheri’s Vintage Collection is one of the best places in the city for vintage jewelry. I’ve stood at this counter for hours, going through bins with my little sister, trying to find the right earrings for a party. I like big, signed pieces from the ’50s and ’60s by Yves Saint Laurent and Lanvin.”
