Izakaya NoMad Restaurant To Bring Japanese Gastropub Food to NYC

Japanese gastropub and restaurant Izakaya NoMad will open in the NoMad District mid-May.

A new Japanese gastropub and restaurant plans to open in the NoMad District mid-May.
Izakaya NoMad, located at 13 West 26th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, is currently finishing construction and will follow in the casual, after-work tradition of Japanese izakaya gastropubs.

Elaborately decorated with dark wood shelving, empty sake barrels and exposed brick walls, the restaurant will serve the Japanese equivalent of pub food: sashimi, tataki, yakitori and Japanese tapas. The Japanese pub’s menu, which is still being completed, will use only free-range, organic chicken, pork and fresh fish.

Details are scarce at the moment, but Izakaya NoMad promises to have a wide selection of sake and Japanese beers. For more information, visit the Izakaya NoMad website or check out photos of the restaurant’s construction on its Facebook page.
