Gorgeous NoMad Cookbook Debuts at Rizzoli
The world-famous team behind The NoMad Restaurant, Daniel Humm, Will Guidara and Leo Robitschek, has launched The NoMad Cookbook. This will be the team’s third cookbook following 2010’s Eleven Madison Park and 2012’s I Heart New York: Ingredients and Recipes.
Beautifully produced with elegant typography, The NoMad Cookbook features stunning photographs by Francesco Tonelli. Foodies will know Tonelli’s work, which has included numerous cookbooks (including Eleven Madison Park) and photos for The New York Times. Rest assured the cookbook does contain the dish we all want to know how to cook: Chef Humm’s iconic whole roasted chicken for two.
We were also happy to see Chef Humm give a big nod to our vibrant neighborhood. According to him, The NoMad Cookbook is “less about the farmers we work with and the ingredients of New York, and more about the soul of The NoMad and the food, drink, and people that bring it to life… in writing The NoMad, we looked more at our neighborhood, how it’s changed over the years, and also the personality that has developed within the restaurant and hotel over a relatively short period of time.”
The NoMad Restaurant’s bar receives its fair share of acclaim as well. It’s not surprising then that in addition to iconic dishes by Daniel Humm, recipes for the bar’s favorite cocktails are also included. Compiled by bar director Leo Robitschek The Nomad Cocktail Book, a reference guide and compendium of almost 200 drinks, within the cookbook, provides tips that any self-taught mixologist should know when preparing a cocktail.
