Five Points Development is planning to replace a cluster of buildings at 258-264 Fifth Avenue with a 54-story residential tower containing ground floor retail. On the corner of West 29th Street, the new development will be directly across from famed Marble Collegiate Church.
The planned building is making big waves in the NYC real estate press, because when it is complete, it will be one of the tallest buildings between midtown and downtown.
According to The Real Deal, “plans call for a 150,018-square-foot building, including 41 apartments and 10,850 square feet of retail space in the basement, first and second floors.”
The Real Deal is also reporting that “a duplex will occupy the full fifth and sixth floor, while the seventh through 21st floors and 23rd through 36th floors will each feature a full-floor apartment. More duplex apartments are planned for the 38th through 45th floors. The building will also include a pool, gym and outdoor area on the fourth floor, the filing shows.”
Meanwhile, DNAinfo is reporting that Five Points has already paid over $101 million for the parcel, which includes 258-260, 262, and 264 Fifth Avenue as well as 256 Fifth Avenue’s development rights.
This project joins a growing list of major developments planned for NoMad, a number of which are concentrated at 29th and 30th Street on or near Fifth Avenue.
