NoMad in Crain’s 40 Under 40

Pete Cashmore, Mona Bijoor and Marc Glosserman are three NoMad-based business professionals topping Crain's 40 Under 40

New York business magazine Crain’s recently published its 2014 40 Under 40 list. This list draws attention to 40 New York businessmen and women that are helping to shape the future of their respective industries. We’re pleased to see that three of these figures are NoMad area entrepreneurs. Check out some of our NoMad neighbors featured in the list:

Mona Bijoor is the CEO of Joor, a digital marketplace that connects apparel brands with retailers and is responsible for aiding the launch of 40 brands and 200 stores. Joor’s clients include Rag & Bone, Diane von Furstenberg, Barneys New York and Otte. The 38-employee firm, located on 32nd Street and 5th Avenue, has quadrupled its revenue since opening in 2012 and is currently expanding to Paris, London and Hong Kong.

Since founding Mashable at the age of 19, Pete Cashmore has grown his business from a small website he ran from his bedroom to one of the busiest web platforms for news and culture. As of this past January, Mashable had 32 million unique visitors and raised $14 million its first financing round of 2014. Mashable will be moving into a new 40,000-square foot office in the NoMad area this June.

NoMad regulars are sure to be familiar with Marc Glosserman’s Hill Country Barbecue and Hill Country Chicken. Now in operation for over seven years in NoMad, Hill Country has expanded from its NoMad location, opening branches in Brooklyn and Washington, D.C. Together these locations grossed a combined $24 million in 2013. The Wall Street Journal praised Hill Country Barbecue as one of the top 10 barbecue joints in the country.

Congrats to our NoMad neighbors!
