Eastern Mediterranean Dining Arrives on the NoMad Piazza with Mama Mezze
Mama Mezze, a new destination for bold, wood-fired Eastern Mediterranean fare, has opened at 1123 Broadway along the NoMad Piazza at 25th Street. From restaurateur Mark Barak (La Pecora Bianca) and chef Einat Admony (Taim, Balaboosta), Mama Mezze offers a shareable menu full of crave-worthy dishes and destination-worthy design.
Dishes like Beet Baba Ghanoush, Baharat-spiced Beef Hummus, and Green Goddess Falafel are made for sharing, while larger plates including Chraime (a spicy fish stew), Adobo Skirt Steak, and Braised Short Rib with harissa-date glaze bring big flavor. Skewers, pita sandwiches, and citrus-forward salads round out the menu. Cocktails lean Mediterranean too, with libations like tahini-infused Espresso Martinis and mezcal-spiked Harissa Margaritas.
The restaurant’s setting is just as memorable. Designed by Home Studios, the space channels a Mediterranean plaza with floor-to-ceiling windows, natural textures, and saturated tones. A towering citrus tree anchors the indoor space, while two outdoor patios add over 100 seats to the NoMad Piazza’s dynamic al fresco dining scene.
Mama Mezze joins a high-caliber culinary roster in NoMad, right down the block from Barak’s own La Pecora Bianca. It adds to the neighborhood’s reputation as one of New York City’s most compelling dining districts, confirming there’s no place like NoMad.
