Scheduled to open its doors by 2019, a $470 million condominium is under construction in the NoMad District, continuing the hot-streak of neighborhood development.

According to Melissa Burch, executive general manager at Lendlease, the latest real estate venture is particularly exciting because “every unit is a corner apartment, so it has exceptional views and light and a real sense of expanse.” Developers have broken ground at 281 Fifth Avenue at the corner of 30th Street and plan for the building to span the space currently occupied by 277, 279 and 281 Fifth Avenue.

The 700 foot, 55-story structure is being designed by Uruguayan architect Rafael Vinoly with interiors by Jeffery Beers of 40-40 Club and Daniel Boulud’s Bistro Moderne fame. 130 one- to four-bedroom condos will be available starting in 2018 with construction scheduled for completion by 2019.
