WWD Cites Boutique Maison 10 As One of Four U.S. Stores Changing the Shopping Experience
NoMad is replete with some of the top stores and boutiques in New York, and now, it has something extra special — a game changing retail concept. Maison 10 opened this past fall and specializes in sourcing unique art, jewelry and accessories and bringing them to shoppers who hunger for something different. Its story fits perfectly with the special spirit of cosmopolitan, creative NoMad.
It starts and ends with the 10.
Whenever you walk into Maison 10, you will see 10 products featured across 10 product categories such as art, gifts, books, fragrances, gifts, homewares, jewelry, etc.. Maison 10 highlights these products for 10-week cycles, at which point a completely new batch of products are rotated in — out with the old, in with the new — with one exception. The product that sold best over the previous period is rewarded with another 10-week availability cycle at the store.
And the “story of 10” doesn’t end there. The boutique is committed to making the world a better place and dedicates 10% of sale of each product to one of 10 charities that the buyer can select. The owners choose nine of the charities and the creator of the product being purchased chooses the final option for giving.
The art-loving founders behind the store also feature ten artworks from one curated artist in the store during each 10-week cycle. Any doubts about the taste of purveyors Henri Myers, Tom Blackie and Carsten Klein will be cast aside when you view the striking current and past featured works here.
We haven’t even explored examples of the wonderful products available, so you’ll have to go to the store yourself.
A trip to Madison 10 will show you why WWD recently included it (along with Saks Fifth Avenue) as one of the four stores in the U.S. that are “changing the customer experience.”
