Weekend in NoMad: Aaron Goldberg Trio, Zachary Cale, Emma Resmini and Marimekko Semi Annual Sale

The Aaron Goldberg Trio comes to NoMad's Jazz Standard

NoMad is set to be your destination for another fantastic weekend of activities — especially when it comes to music. There are performances guaranteed to appeal to a broad range of tastes. You can see some great jazz at Jazz Standard, a classical music prodigy at Baruch Performing Arts Center, and an eclectic psychedelia-fusion at Ace Hotel New York.

It’s not all about music this weekend though, there are some fantastic deals happening at the Marimekko store as well. Have a look at all the details below, and there’s nothing stopping you from doing it all.

Jazz Standard – Aaron Goldberg Trio

Aaron Goldberg has played with some of the greatest names in jazz, including Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis, Betty Carter and Freddie Hubbard. Now the acclaimed pianist brings the Aaron Goldberg Trio to Jazz Standard for three nights of original compositions that are bound to blow you away.

The Aaron Goldberg Trio will play sets at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on January 16th, 17th and 18th. Tickets cost $30 and are available online.

Baruch Performing Arts Center – NY Flute Club Presents: Emma Resmini

Emma Resmini is a rising star the the classical world. This 14-year-old flutist has already soloed with orchestras all over the country, and frequently performs at the Kennedy Center as both soloist and chamber musician. This is the prodigy’s first performance in NoMad, and we are delighted to have her.

The concert is January 18th at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are free to New York Flute Club members, $25 for non-members and $15 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door. Baruch Performing Arts Center is located at 55 Lexington Avenue (near 24th Street).

Ace Hotel – Sunday Night Live: Zachary Cale

Zachary Cale earned the impressive title of “Best Songwriter in New York 2014” from The Village Voice. You can hear his unique fusion of psychedelia and americana, followed by a DJ set from Chris Tucci, in the cool confines of the Ace Lobby this Sunday. Tucci will be mixing rare B-sides and other musical treasures, making for a night of non-stop eclectic music.

This event begins at 8 p.m. in the lobby of Ace Hotel at 20 West 29th Street. The best part is that admission is free.

Marimekko – Marimekko Semi-Annual Sale

This weekend is your last chance to get in on Marimekko’s incredible winter sale. From now until January 19th, you can get up to 50% discounts on their iconic printed textiles, clothes, accessories and home goods.

Marimekko’s flagship store at 200 Fifth Avenue is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
