Weekend in NoMad: Ron Carter Big Band, Summer Streets 2013
There are some amazing events going on in the NoMad neighborhood this weekend. From picnics, to art to a true Jazz legend, there is something for everyone.
An actual living legend will be coming to NoMad this weekend. Ron Carter will bring his big band to Jazz Standard. A core member of the Miles Davis Quintet in the 1960s, Carter is on the Mount Rushmore of Jazz bassists. He’ll be playing multiple sets on friday, saturday and sunday. Grab your tickets because this will undoubtably be fantastic!
As we’ve mentioned this week, Summer Streets 2013 will run through the NoMad neighborhood down Park Avenue. The event will also feature a Rafael Lozano-Hemmer interactive art installation in the Park Avenue Tunnel.
