There are some great events going on in the NoMad neighborhood this weekend. Each week we like to highlight a couple of the numerous fun and cultural events going on near Madison Square Park.

The George Coleman Organ Quintet will perform eight sets over the course of the weekend at Jazz Standard. George Coleman was part of the legendary Miles Davis Quintet in 1963-64. He played on many historic albums like Steps to Heaven (1963), My Funny Valentine (1964) and Four & More (1966). This iteration of the George Coleman Organ Quintet that will perform at Jazz Standard features fantastic guitarist Peter Bernstein.

On Saturday night, Ace Hotel is hosting a very interesting live dance event. OntheFloor is a project created by The Dance Cartel and is in its third of four months. Helmed by choreographer Ani Taj Niemann, the event draws influences from Brazil to American Hip Hop. The show starts at 9 pm, tickets are $20 and the event is 21+. If you can’t make this show, the next event in the series is on June 1st.
