Weekend in NoMad: Codeathon, Public Art
We usually highlight the great nighttime live music and comedy offerings in the NoMad neighborhood each weekend. This week, we decided to highlight a couple fantastic daytime events.
Starting today at 4pm and running through Sunday, Ace Hotel hosts a Codeathon in their Lobby. This event is sponsored by Tumblr, the Clinton Foundation, Sweetgreen, Exhale and Jawbone. According to the Clinton Foundation, the event will “challenge interactive & game design master students from around the city to build a completely original and functional application prototype, based on one of the social determinants of health.” It makes sense to hold this event in NoMad as the neighborhood has become NYC’s tech hub and the heart of Silicon Alley.
The event will be open to the public on Sunday and all ages are welcome. Maybe NoMad-resident Chelsea Clinton will show up to this event run by the family foundation!
If you’ve been following our site this week you must know that we are so excited about the launch of Giuseppe Penone’s Ideas of Stone. Officially on view starting yesterday, this fantastic art installation is a must see. Check out our preview post featuring fantastic pictures and head over to Madison Square Park one afternoon to see the installation in person!
Have a fantastic weekend!
