Upcoming Jazz Gallery Shows: Tenor Saxophones Galore

chad lefkowitz brown performs at the jazz gallery

A couple bright young tenor saxophone stars will be gracing The Jazz Gallery stage this week. The venue, which completed a fundraiser last week, recently relocated to the NoMad neighborhood after many years downtown.

Chad Lefkowitz-Brown will lead a sextet through two sets on Thursday night. Originally from rural New York, Chad has been performing saxophone since he was a young child. He has become an in demand saxophonist in NYC, appearing with musicians ranging from Ron McClure to Arturo O’Farrill. On Thursday, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown will be performing with many of the same musicians who appear on his upcoming release, Imagery Manifesto.

On Friday, Dayna Stephens will also front a sextet for two sets at The Jazz Gallery. Time Out New York said that Dayna Stephens is a “soulful and assured straight-ahead tenor man” and “has been making an ever-larger impression on the local scene.” He’s performed with many legends including Carlos Santana and Stevie Wonder.

If you haven’t checked out The Jazz Gallery yet, these shows would be great opportunities.
