LEGO Store to open in Madison Square Park

The NY Post published an article yesterday titled Mad About NoMad. This piece details some big moves that are being made in our neighborhood. The article also confirms something that we mentioned in a recent NoMad Rumors post.

The rumblings are true and the LEGO Store is coming to Madison Square Park. LEGO Systems has leased a 7,700 square foot retail space at 200 5th Avenue next to Madison Square Park. As we reported weeks ago in our rumors post, this will be LEGO’s flagship NYC store. The store is set to open in January 2014. This will mean LEGO will now be neighbors to Eataly, The Grey Group, Tiffany & Co and IMG Worldwide.

The NY Post piece also mentions that the Madison Belvedere building has been sold. The 54-story tower at 10 E. 29th St. will now be owned by Invesco. The purchase price is said to be around $300 million. The building has 404 residential apartments.

It seems like every other day there is something big happening in NoMad!
