Sweetgreen to Open in NoMad

Sweetgreen is opening in the NoMad District

Locally sourced and organic salad your thing? You’re in luck, because DC-area chain Sweetgreen is opening their first NYC location in the NoMad District. Following the success of their 13 locations in the DC-area and Pennsylvania, Sweetgreen is taking on NYC next.

Sweetgreen was hatched in 2007 after 3 Georgetown students wanted to create a restaurant that they could eat at daily. Founders Nicolas Jammet, Jonathan Neman and Nathaniel Ru also wanted to use locally sourced and organic ingredients. They have a diverse menu of salad options as well as frozen yogurt.

Sweetgreen also has their own music festival that takes place in Maryland. It’s called Sweetlife and this year’s festival was headlined by Skrillex and Jack White. Past acts have included NYC legends The Strokes.

Welcome to the NoMad District!
