Stunning New Porcelanosa Flagship Opens with Grand Celebration in Madison Square Park
Wednesday evening, Porcelanosa — the Spanish company famous throughout the world for innovation, design, manufacture and distribution tile kitchen, bath and hardwood products —threw a fabulous party to mark the opening of its New York flagship store in NoMad.
More than 700 guests enjoyed a seated dinner and flamenco dance performance. The guests included a Sarah Jessica Parker, Richard Gere, Meredith Vieira and model Irina Shayk. Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky crossed the street from their 26th Street residence to enjoy the festivities as well. Many noted members of the Spanish community attended, including supermodel Nieves Alvarez, bullfighters Cayetano Rivera and Finito de Cordoba, US Ambassador to Spain James Costos, fashion designer Carolina Herrera and Nobel prize winning author Mario Vargas Llosa.
Santiago Manent, Sales and Marketing Director for Porcelanosa summed up the importance of the new flagship: “Porcelanosa is excited to announce the grand opening of our new showroom and provide an entirely new way for the public to experience our wide selection of European luxury products in an iconic location. The building’s incredible design, interactive technology features and unprecedented offerings make it a truly remarkable place, which will greatly benefit the design community in New York City and (the) greater design industry.”
World-renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners, headed by Pritzker Architecture Prize winning architect Lord Norman Foster worked diligently to ensure that the Porcelanosa building’s historic exterior was restored while pairing it with a completely modern interior to reflect Porcelanosa’s innovative style. We recently got a behind-the-scenes tour, and encourage you to experience the store for yourself.
