Shack Week: Daniel Boulud’s “The Piggie Shack”
As regulars to the NoMad neighborhood know, this week is Shack Week – a week long celebration of legendary burger stand Shake Shack’s 10th anniversary. To help commemorate the milestone, Shake Shack pulled together some of the city’s best chefs and asked them to create their own burger to be sold as part of the festivities.
Today’s featured burger is The Piggie Shack by acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud. Boulud has been one of the culinary world’s biggest names since arriving in the US in the early 1980s. In the three decades since he left his native Lyon, France, Chef Boulud has opened a number of award-winning restaurants: DANIEL, Café Boulud, Bar Pleiades, db Bistro Moderne, Boulud Sud, Epicerie Boulud and DBGB Kitchen and Bar. Boulud’s restaurants have garnered three-star Michelin reviews and a number of James Beard Foundation awards.
The Piggie Shack features a beef-blended patty topped with DBGB’s BBQ pulled pork, jalepeño mayo, Boston lettuce and a mustard-vinegar coleslaw. Head over to Shake Shack in Madison Square Park today to try out this mouth-watering creation. Burgers are limited to two per customer.
Be sure to check out the Shake Shack party in Madison Square Park on Thursday for more amazing food, live music and birthday cake from Dominique Ansel.
Stay tuned to our week-long coverage for all the delicious details.
Update: DBGB, is giving away free pints of beer with Chef Daniel’s signature “Piggy Burger” to make up for the fact that not everyone will get to experience the Piggy Shack.
