Remarkable Rizzoli Bookstore Featured on ABC News
On Wednesday evening, WABC featured a story about Rizzoli Bookstore’s gorgeous new location. In the segment, Cynthia Conigliaro and Kate Hutchison of Rizzoli discussed the commitment Rizzoli has made to the retail bookstore and the tremendous importance that the bookstore experience has for avid readers. As Cynthia Congiliaro points out, “. . . nothing can replicate the experience of walking into a bookstore and feeling the passion of the buyer.”
Due to demolition, Rizzoli was forced to move from its former location on 57th Street just off of Fifth Avenue, where it had been located for 29 years. Undaunted, Rizzoli looked at 100 spaces around the city and finally selected a spot for its new store in NoMad.
The new store design uses many furnishings from the uptown store to remind customers of their earlier Rizzoli experiences. However, design firm Ike, Kligerman, Barkley has reinterpreted the store to make it as grand as its predecessor, but with a freshness and vibrancy that is more appealing to today’s booklover. The feeling of the store fits perfectly into the international, sophisticated, creative community here in NoMad, but the best part is that Rizzoli still maintains a curated line of fine books and international periodicals that makes every visit a joy. Take a look.
