Planta Queen Restaurant Opens in NoMad

Planta Queen restaurant opens in NoMad (15 West 27th Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue, next to the NoMad Piazza). It’s a welcome addition to the neighborhood, bringing its vision for a plant-powered world of fine food to New York City.
Founder Steven Salm and Co-founder & Executive Chef David Lee’s mission is to create a dining experience where people can let loose and eat delicious plant-based foods. Brilliantly balancing indulgence with wellness, Planta believes “having a good time doesn’t equal treating the planet or your body poorly.”
At the preview opening for friends and family, the culinary level of Chef Lee’s shareable dishes was matched only by the energy in the inviting, chic interior designed by ICRAVE. A super-friendly, attentive staff and stellar cocktails amplified the feel-good vibe.

Dish on the Dishes
For starters, do not miss the Sweet Corn Dumplings with tom yum, cilantro chimichurri. The Crispy Gyoza with cabbage, carrot, cilantro, mushroom, chili sauce and the Spinach Shiitake Dumplings are notable, too.
Coconut Ceviche, with jalapeno, pineapple, cucumber, and lime has a powerful citrus kick to wake up the taste buds.
Truffle Fried Rice with innovative shiitake bacon, peas, eggs, and shaved black truffles is delicious.

The Cauliflower Tots are a must-have standout on the menu. Taking the concept of Tater Tots to a higher level, these tots with truffle almond Parmesan and lemon aioli are extraordinary.
Anyone looking to indulge in a little should get the Udon Noodles with truffle mushroom cream, shaved black truffle. Delectable.
Cocktails and More
The Kyu-kiki is sure to become an instant neighborhood favorite. The ingenious concoction of Japanese whiskey, Okinawa black sugar, ginger and, angostura bitters will have most patrons ordering a second (or third) round.
Free Spirits – inventive non-alcoholic blends of juices and flavors – offer a variety of refreshing alternatives to the specialty cocktail menu and wine list.

Desserts
Matcha cheesecake, Mochi in three flavors, and a brownie draped with decadent chocolate sauce at the table make a perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.
Founder Steven Salm, a native New Yorker shares, “We believe the power of plants can change the world, and that power begins with our plates. For our health, for the health of our communities, and for the well-being of our planet—plants are key.” We couldn’t agree more. Plus, Planta Queen’s opening in NoMad definitely changes 27th Street for the better almost instantaneously – it’s a restaurant like no other in one of New York’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
