Magnet Theater

Magnet Theater, one of New York’s most recognized improv schools and theaters, is a performance space and training ground for the best and brightest comedic talent in New York City.
With critically acclaimed shows almost every night, as well as classes in improv, musical improv, sketch, storytelling, and more, there is always something happening at the Magnet Theater.
Since its founding in 2005, Magnet Theater has been at the epicenter of New York’s growing improv movement. After establishing himself as an important voice in the Chicago improv community under the mentorship of the legendary Del Close, Armando Diaz joined forces with other Chicago improvisers to create Magnet. Magnet continues to be guided by Diaz and co-founder Ed Herbstman.
Magnet’s mission is to grow and nurture improvisers, writers, actors, and storytellers in a community united by common passion. The result is a dynamic hub of smart, original, brilliant comedy.
