NoMad Skyscrapers: 3 West 29th, 281 Fifth, Virgin Hotel

See new renderings of the HFZ Capital's project in NoMad.

There are big things happening in NoMad real estate, in a very literal sense.

Concept renderings of what promises to be a stunning new project from Ziel Feldman’s HFZ Capital have been released, showing a 55-story, 400,000 square foot, mixed-use building. The project designed by FR-EE will stand on the site of the former Bancroft Building at 3 West 29th Street. HFZ Capital is also currently developing sites at 11 West 29th Street and 8-16 West 30th Street.

Developer Victor Homes will build a new condo tower at 281 Fifth Avenue. Official plans for the site have not been released, but there are indications that the tower will be 51 stories tall with over 250,000 square feet available. Preliminary renderings of the space show a slender tower with distinctive cutouts, designed by starchitect Raphael Vinoly. You may know Vinoly as the designer behind the much talked about 432 Park Avenue, the tallest residential building in the Western hemisphere.

Virgin Hotel, which is planning to open its doors in 2017, has released new renderings. The hotel will stand at 38 stories on Broadway, between 29th Street and 30th Street, and will include more than 475 guest rooms and suites, a rooftop bar, and outdoor pool and spa and five floors of high-end retail space. Virgin Hotel is being developed by The LAM Group. VOA Architecture will act as both architect and interior designer.
