The Last Days of Folly Tonight Featuring Jarvis Cocker, Sofia Coppola, More
Madison Square Art celebrates the success of Rachel Feinstein’s Madison Square Park public art exhibit ‘Folly’ with an evening of performances from some of the city’s top musicians, dancers, artists and directors.
The event, appropriately titled The Last Days of Folly, uses Feinstein’s three sculpture pieces as backdrop for the short performance festival. The evening includes: a collaboration between famed-director Sofia Coppola and the Joffrey Ballet School’s Jo Matos and Irene Hogarth-Cimino; musical interludes by Jarvis Cocker; modern dance choreography by Tamar Ettun, a ‘magic lantern’ performance of the Ramayana by Little Did Productions; dance performances by Lil Buck; and a range of other musical interludes and video installations.
The evening, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight in Madison Square Park, will also feature models dressed in Folly-inspired looks from fashion designers Giles Deacon, Duro Olowu, Zac Posen, Narciso Rodriguez, Cynthia Rowley, Proenza Schouler and Madeline Weinrib. Stop by Madison Square Park tonight to check the show out, or swing by Folly before it comes down September 7th.
