The Flatiron Room To Host James Beard Foundation Dinner

Popular NoMad restaurant The Flatiron Room will host a special dinner for the James Beard Foundation this October

Popular NoMad-based restaurant The Flatiron Room will be hosting dinner for the James Beard Foundation this October. The event, Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey!, pairs a gourmet menu with The Flatiron Room’s unparalleled whiskey selection for the ultimate dining experience. It’s the first time that a dinner and whiskey pairing has been done.

While everyone knows about The Flatiron Room’s incredible whiskey collection, few are in on the big secret: the food at The Flatiron Room is some of the best you can find in NoMad. For many in the know, it is their favorite spot for dinner.

The Beard evening will feature hors d’oeuvres like the pig and fig flatbread, Chilean sea bass flautas, passion fruit mousse bites and The Flatiron Room’s mac and cheese. These will be followed by a five-course meal prepared by Chef Susan Burdian, featuring barbecued duck salad with lotus root, potato-turnip soup with jalapeno mousse, cast-iron black drum fish, braised short ribs and a white chocolate bomba with blue cheese foam. Every course will be paired with a whiskey selected by sommelier Heather Greene, author of the new book Whiskey Distilled.

The dinner will be held on Saturday, October 18th at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $130 for James Beard Foundation members and $170 for the general public. Seating is still available and reservations can be made online or by calling (212) 627-2308.
