Five Restaurants Guaranteed to Heat Up Your Romance This Valentine’s Day

While many restaurants in NoMad are exceptional for one reason or another, our staff has chosen these five intimate restaurants as especially perfect venues for a night of romance.  We selected the following five for their ambience, great food, and the special deals and menus they are offering on Valentine’s Day.  Some are quiet and others stunningly beautiful, while some offer a glitzier night of entertainment, but there is sure to be one to fit you and your lover.

Valentine’s night is one of the hardest times of the year to get a dinner reservation and these favorites will fill up quickly, so call soon for reservations.

Bread & Tulips

Bread & Tulips, situated in The Hotel Giraffe at 365 Park Avenue South, is our staff’s number one choice to visit this Valentine’s Day.  The reason is simple.  Terrific rustic authentic Italian cooking, reasonable pricing and perhaps the coziest, quietest, and most  seductive ambience in NoMad.  The menu is inspired by the regional diversity of Italy and features handmade pasta beautifully prepared with exceptional ingredients.

This Valentine’s Day lovers can enjoy dishes such as seared sea scallops and strip steak tagliata in a warmly lit room where the sensuous flavors and subdued lighting are sure to make the night more amorous.  This special venue is offering a complimentary Prosecco toast all night long and an exclusive four-course prix-fixe menu for $65 per person.

At 88 Madison Avenue, Scarpetta offers an exceptional fine dining experience that has become a legend in New York.  Its authentic Italian dishes have bold flavors with seasonal ingredients, and it maintains its tradition of handmaking its pasta daily, just as you would find at a fine restaurant in Siena or Orvieto.  The dining room is refined but casual, and the staff will make you and your  amour feel at home—very Italian indeed.

Scarpetta is offering a special menu for $125 per person. Some of the options available on the select menu are branzino, roasted chicken, and wagyu strip.

An added plus here is that after dinner, you can head downstairs to the Seville, a bar with a sexy speakeasy feel. It is a luscious place to continue your celebration.  Remember February 14th falls on a Friday this year!

With all of these wonderful restaurants scattered throughout NoMad, you’re sure to find a great place to celebrate your love. Whether you are looking to impress someone new or enjoy an exceptional night with your partner or spouse, each of these venues offers a unique experience, and we think you’ll find one that is perfect for you as a couple.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we’d like to share with you Robert Schumann’s song “Wigmund” written for his wife Clara, which we think is one of the world’s greatest declarations of love.

You my soul, you my heart,
You my rapture, O you my pain,
You my world in which I live,
My heaven you, to which I aspire,
O you my grave, into which
My grief forever I’ve consigned!
You are repose, you are peace,
You are bestowed on me from heaven.
Your love for me gives me my worth,
Your eyes transfigure me in mine,
You raise me lovingly above myself,
My guardian angel, my better self!

Music by:  Robert Schumann
Words by: Friedrich Rückert
