We keep hearing from companies in NoMad that their clients love coming here because of the creative vibe here and all the great restaurants and bars. While it’s great to meet at your office, it does staff and clients good to get out into a more relaxed atmosphere or simply for a change of scenery.  Sometimes there are confidentiality reasons for having a meeting outside the office or limitations of space.  Whatever the reason, the NoMad neighborhood offers a number of options for busy professionals like you who need a place to meet. Let’s explore five alternatives for setting up a great business meeting in NoMad.

1. A Nearby Restaurant, Coffee Shop or Bar

If you’re looking for a more relaxed setting to meet with a client, NoMad is home to some of the city’s best restaurants and there are a range of international food choices to make a client meeting special.  Here are some recommendations to consider, but check our map there are so many options.  If you are looking for great food, space between tables, and an energetic atmosphere, Black Barn is a great choice (they even have private rooms for meetings).  One of our favorites for a quiet space is Bread & Tulips and they have a terrific menu at reasonable prices.  If you want to treat a client to what may be the best pizza in New York, the grand uptown vibe of Marta is ideal.

Looking for something more informal?   There are dozens of shops and lounges with seating perfect for strategizing, co-conspiring or pitching.  For an upbeat daytime setting, try Birch Coffee at 21 East 27th Street;  grab a drink at The Seville at the St. James Hotel, or weather permitting, explore one of NoMad’s 13 rooftop bars.

2. Flexible Meeting Spaces with Breather

Similarly, to coworking spaces or flexible workspaces, a growing number of companies now provide flexible meeting space options to professionals needing to schedule a meeting in a hurry or with special requirements. One of the most popular is Breather, through which you can book meeting rooms online in office buildings across New York City. These rooms come in a variety of sizes, offer amenities like WiFi and HDMI monitors and are available by the hour for affordable rates. Breather has meeting rooms available at 1123 Broadway, 37 East 28th Street and 220 Fifth Avenue, among other prominent NoMad locations.

3. Peerspace

Think of Peerspace as the Airbnb of meeting rooms. This platform allows companies, office buildings and other hosts to list their underutilized spaces for scheduled or spur-of-the-moment business meetings and conferences, as well as other events like film shoots, launch parties, birthday parties, and even weddings. A number of hosts in NoMad advertise meeting rooms available by the hour for affordable rates.

4. Sage Workspace

Located at 276 Fifth Avenue, Sage Workspace offers quite a few flexible options for entrepreneurs and professionals in need of short-term space, with offices or meeting rooms available by the hour, the day or longer.

Madison Square Park, which is virtually NoMad’s town square, offers ample tables, chairs and benches, delightful displays of flowers and art, a peaceful setting, fresh air, and often sun.
