Eli “Paperboy” Reed Presents “Record Release Tuesdays” at Ace Hotel

eli paperboy reed is holding his record release tuesdays at ace hotel this month

Soul singer Eli “Paperboy” Reed will host a Tuesday night series at the Ace Hotel this month.

The series, “Record Release Tuesdays,” will feature Reed spinning his favorite singles of 50s, 60s and 70s soul and R&B. Reed is known for his vintage juke-joint style and has garnered attention by following in the footsteps of Amy Winehouse, Mayer Hawthorne and other retro acts. The series will culminate on February 25th with an acoustic set from Reed, in celebration of his soon to-be-released LP on the Warner Brothers label.

Reed has been steadily building a fan base since his debut album “Sings ‘Walkin’ and Talkin’ for My Baby’ and Other Smash Hits!” in 2005. Since that time, he has released two more LPs and made the jump to major labels; his third record was released on Capitol and produced by Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Eminem and B.B. King).

While little is known about the new album, Reed has released the single “Woo Hoo,” — a take on the pop-dance anthem format. This week, Reed will be joined by DJ Phast Phreddie (aka The Boogaloo Omnibus).

The music starts at 8 p.m. in the Ace Hotel Lobby Bar and admission is free. Swing over to the NoMad District and check it out!
