Eleven Madison Park and NoMad Rank Among Best Restaurants in the World

Daniel Humm - Best restaurants in the world

NoMad dwellers know NoMad is the best. New Yorkers know NoMad is the best. And now the rest of the world knows it too. On a list of the 100 Best Restaurants in the entire world are two institutions from our little corner of the globe, thanks to the genius of Chef Daniel Humm.

Eleven Madison Park, founded by Danny Meyer and bought in 2011 by Humm and partner Will Guidara, nearly tops the list at #5. The quality of the food is unimpeachable, but what makes Eleven Madison Park stand out on the list is the playfulness that Humm and Guidara bring to the menu, which focuses heavily on produce local to the New York area. That playfulness is expertly juxtaposed with the classic ambiance of the restaurant’s high-ceilinged Deco dining room.

Coming in at #67 is another Humm-Guidara partnership: The restaurant in The NoMad Hotel. The NoMad offers a unique dining experience — smaller rooms surround a glass atrium at the center. The menu is elegant, and the cocktail menu frequently tops the lists of best bar programs in the country.

For NoMad restaurants to show up twice among a world’s worth of peers speaks not only to Humm and Guidara’s talent, but to NoMad’s reputation as the home of both world-class quality and exciting innovation.
