Double Truffle at SD26
Popular Italian restaurant SD26 will be hosting a celebration centered around white truffles this November. The festivities come in two parts: first, the annual white truffle gala on Wednesday, November 19th and second, a white truffle hunt in northern Italy.
The gala will be held at the SD26 restaurant in NoMad and features an hour of hors d’oeuvres and champagne, followed by five-course menu of seasonal cuisine from Chef Matteo Bergamini. The menu will be paired with wines, and there will be white truffles on each table for guests to shave themselves. Tickets for the evening cost $350 per person and are available now.
If an evening of white truffles isn’t enough, go with SD26 father and daughter owners Tony and Marisa May for a five-day Italian truffle hunt. Leave New York on the evening of Friday, November 21st, and wake up in Milan. From Milan, take a short journey to luxury spa resort Relais San Maurizio. From there, follow Tony and Marisa through five days of truffle hunting and visits to wineries throughout the Piedmont region. The tour includes shopping in Alba and lunch at three-Michelin-star Ristorante Il Duomo. Tickets for the hunt cost $3,500, not including airfare.
