Construction Still Going Strong in NoMad

As New York nears the date for its gradual reopening, NoMad is pleased to witness that construction on a wealth of projects is progressing at a steady pace.
The Ritz Carlton Hotel being developed by Mariott, Ritz Carlton, and Flag Luxury Properties at 1185 Broadway is reaching its peak. The curtain wall’s installation has continued throughout May and is nearly complete. Once completed in 2021, the hotel’s 40 stories will boast 250 rooms, with interiors to be designed by Yabu Pushelberg.
A few blocks away at 1225 Broadway, developer Lam Group’s Virgin Hotel is wrapping up its impressive glass façade and workers have removed the exterior hoists. It will likely also be finished in 2021, making it the first Virgin Hotel in New York. Among its exciting amenities are an underground 22,000-square-foot golf store — delightfully known as Swingers: A Crazy Golf Club — and an outdoor swimming pool.
Although in its earlier stages, we are still eagerly monitoring the advancement of SWA Architecture’s residential building being developed by Castellan Real Estate Partners at 7-9 East 30th Street. Yimby reports that the project has reached ground level on its way up to its full 23-floor height. Not only will it hold 54 residences, but it will also offer 2,142 square feet of retail space on the ground level.

We look forward to the culmination of these projects and the many more to come, which are sure to welcome countless businesses and residents alike into our rapidly expanding community.
