Chef Greg Proechel to Open Ferris at MADE Hotel in NoMad
NoMad has already cemented itself as one of the culinary centers of NYC, but the flow of new creative eateries in our neighborhood doesn’t ebb. The latest in a long list of favorites comes from buzz-worthy Chef Greg Proechel, the originator of Le Turtle on the Bowery, known as “the repository for beautiful people.” Leaving Le Turtle in July, Chef Proechel announced the October opening of his new NoMad restaurant “Ferris.”
Making its home in the new MADE Hotel, Ferris sounds like it will blend seamlessly with the vibe of the hotel. Ferris will feature New American cuisine described as “seasonal and vegetable-focused” by Gothamist in its “Fall Restaurant Preview.” At breakfast, lunch and dinner, diners will enjoy views of the fully open kitchen. As for the menu, we can only speculate as to what the dishes themselves will be. However, they promise to be wonderful. Chef Greg’s best known dish at Le Turtle was his praised Sasso chicken for two. According to Eater critic Ryan Sutton the dish showed the work of, “an assured cook, proficiently alternating between rustic and refined preparations.”
Greg Proechel brings Ferris to us with the help of Major Food Group veteran Charles Seich. Cocktails will be in good hands as well with the bar program to be run by husband-wife team Jeremy Oertel and Natasha David, the minds behind Death + Company as well as some of Williamsburg’s best bars including Maison Premiere and Dram.
Join Chef Gref Proechel on his next culinary journey this October at Ferris!
