CBS recently confirmed it will retain its presence in the NoMad neighborhood for some time to come. According to the Commercial Observer, the national television network has inked a 15-year lease renewal at its location at 28 East 28th Street, formerly identified as 63 Madison Avenue, near the northeast corner of Madison Square Park. The lease includes a total of 164,000 square feet, encompassing the entire eighth, ninth, and tenth floors of the 15-story building.

CBS’s future in the NoMad neighborhood was called into question when Facebook was reportedly in negotiations last fall to lease the entire building at 28 East 28th Street—a total of 870,000 square feet. Facebook has since passed on the offer and is now reportedly eyeing space at 1 Madison Avenue, which is currently in the midst of a major redevelopment project.

The CBS network currently uses its NoMad offices to house its CBS Sports Network and CBS Interactive divisions. The lease renewal was mentioned in The Real Deal’s top NYC office leases for April.
