The next Madison Square Park public art installation is currently being constructed. The piece, by Sandra Gibson and Luis Recoder, is titled Topsy-Turvy: A Camera Obscura Installation.

The newest commission by Mad Sq Art, Topsy Turvy, takes one of the world’s first moving image devices and turns it into a life-size 10x10ft structure. You’ll be able to enter the device and take in the surroundings in real time.

Topsy Turvy is another example of how Madison Square Park in the NoMad neighborhood has become a beacon for public art in NYC. This will be the first installation following the enormously popular Buckyball which closed earlier this month.

Sandra Gibson and Luis Recoder’s installation will run from Friday March 1 until April 5.
