Bread & Tulips Relaunch Party (Recap)

If the Bread & Tulips party on November 21st was any indication, this is going to be a great holiday season. When we arrived at the relaunch party, with our photographer Camilo Fuentealba, the neighborhood favorite was filled with a huge, fun (and very hot) crowd sipping great cocktails while trays of incredible food seemed to appear from everywhere.

We had to keep trying the hors d’oeuvres to decide what we liked best, but we failed to find a clear winner. Fried artichokes with lemon-yogurt aioli and way-not-your-usual scallops wrapped in bacon probably topped our list, but there was also Bread & Tulips’s great homemade oven pizzas and platters of mortadella, spec and prosciutto — as it seems only the Italians can serve.

Everything was delicious and went down well with a bold Super Tuscan they served.  There was also a four-drink bar menu with some unusual, but really knockout concoctions. Go and try the Spirit of Saints or the Boulevardier.

The new changes to the restaurant struck us as just right — it’s cozier than it was with lounge areas and a new bar setup.  Yet, even filled with this large crowd, the restaurant still has its trademark intimate, warm atmosphere, which is perfect for a business lunch or romantic dinner.

What a night!
