Bill and Hillary Clinton Enjoy Family Time in NoMad, Madison Square Park

Bill and Hillary Clinton were spotted last weekend in NoMad and Madison Square Park

NoMad is no stranger to celebrities, but the neighborhood buzzed with added political gravity last weekend when Bill and Hillary Clinton visited their daughter Chelsea, a NoMad resident.

Since 2013, Chelsea Clinton has lived in The Whitman building on 26th Street, facing Madison Square Park. With their daughter’s home in the neighborhood and two new grandchildren, Bill and Hillary have been spotted around NoMad a number of times over the past few years.

But what happened last weekend was pretty special, considering Hillary Clinton’s historic run up to the Democratic nomination for president, the first for a woman, and the very public nature of this particular appearance. As the Daily Mail first reported, former President Bill Clinton was seen casually strolling through Madison Square Park—in very cool blue suede shoes—with the family dogs, Tally and Maisie. With him on his walk were his granddaughter Charlotte and son-in-law Marc Mezvinsky.

While the former Secretary of State was only seen hurriedly entering Chelsea’s building with a box of files, Bill took his time greeting the public and enjoying the beauty of the park, flanked by bodyguards.

Where can you go for a walk and wind up seeing both a former and a possible future President of the United States? Very few places — but it happened in NoMad on a quiet summer afternoon.
